Detailed Schedule
You are invited to…
  • Come join other bird enthusiasts, as we learn from long -time birding folks, and from each other in this weekend full of options for any kind of bird information you could want!
  • Learn how to attract and keep birds in your backyard, drawing or photographing them, or simply learning how to identify them by sight or sound.
  • When you register please note the activities and classes that interest you. This will help give us insight regarding whether additional instructors are needed or discerning if some classes need to be offered multiple times.
May 8th is Global Big Day (https://ebird.org/news/global/big-day-8-may-202). Worldwide people will be sharing their bird sightings. It will be fun to submit our collective list from the day and be part of this global event.

This is a family friendly event—and we want everyone to be safe and feel safe. So please bring your masks along for when we are inside or unable to keep socially distant.

Is there really that many places to go to find birds at Amigo?
Believe it or not there is. We have 400 acres of land and wetlands. Plus 149 acres of lake to explore. During the Activity Options blocks will be facilitating hikes and leading activities such as birding from pontoons or canoes.  There will be lots of opportunities to explore areas of Amigo that a lot of guests don't get to see.

How does this work with COVID? We are hoping for great weather. If this is the case almost all of the activities will be done outside. If the weather isn't cooperative, we will create safe spaces indoors as needed.
  • Lodging will be limited to one household in a room or space at a time. The retreat center will be sparsely booked in order to limit incidental contact
  • Masks will be required in indoor spaces where more than one household is present.
  • Meals will be served in the dining hall, cafeteria style (staff will plate food for you). Outdoor seating in the pavilion will also be available for meals.
  • Large group gatherings will be held in outdoor areas, utilizing the pavilion if the weather is not cooperative.
  • Class sizes will be limited and masks required for the few classes that are scheduled indoors.
  • Hand sanitizer is available throughout our camp facilities.
