Meet Our Summer Staff
Members of Camp Amigo's summer staff are responsible, kind young adults who spend their summer living in community, nurturing healthy relationships with campers, and having fun outdoors.
Summer staff go through a thorough hiring and training process: Amigo runs background checks, calls professional and character references, and interviews applicants for emotional and mental maturity. Summer staff spend two weeks receiving training on best practices for working with children from a variety of backgrounds, learning about de-escalation techniques, redirection, and neurodiversity so they can provide a supportive, safe space for each child that comes to camp. Summer staff are CPR and First Aid certified, have a heart for service, and care about the well-being of their campers and each other.
