Full Moon Campfire @ Amigo Centre

5:00 - 9:00 pm
Our April Full Moon Campfires will include a Wild Edible Supper Sampler from 5:00 - 6:00 pm. After supper you can head off to enjoy some hiking or participate in other activities prior to the moonrise. Each group will have a designated campfire circle for your family or "bubble" of friends, where you can enjoy engaging in good conversation as the moon rises over the lake.
Activity options include:
… hiking our trails (can choose to engage in the Self-Guided Nature Trail
or the Prayer Walk if you want a specific focus)
... prayerfully walking through our labyrinth
... participating in a Scavenger Hunt
… engaging in an Alphabet Photography Hike
If you really need more time to destress, book a room in the Retreat Center and stay for a few days.

Yes, so that we have prepare accordingly for supper and so that we can assign campfire spots to families/"bubble" groups.
Is there a cost?
No set fee, but we welcome you to consider a generous donation to support the Outdoor / Environmental Education program at Amigo.
What time does it start?
We're pretty flexible in this. You are welcome to come any time in the afternoon, just let us know what your anticipated time of arrival will be.

On April 25th the moonrise is at 6:55 p.m. (sunset is at 8:33 p.m.)
On April 26th the moonrise is at 8:14 p.m. – FULL MOON (sunset is at 8:34 p.m.)
Do we need to bring anything?
Dress warm, when the sun starts to go down the temperatures drop quickly and it can be quite cold, even near the fire. So bring appropriate layers of clothing.
Lawn chair (if you want to sit closer to the fire)
Travel mug for each person in the group and beverage to go with your supper/and or snack.
Flashlight, headlamp or lantern. (to help navigate back to the parking lot after dark)
What is Amigo Centre providing?
We will have the fire circle set up and are also willing to start your campfire if you would like us to.
A light supper of tasty wild edibles.
What about the weather?
If it is raining or dangerously cold we will cancel.
When you register we will ask for a phone number or email that we can contact you with.
Will there be bathrooms available?
Yes, we will have designated bathrooms available for each group. We ask that you please sanitize your hands prior to entering and after exiting. There will not be someone sanitizing restrooms between uses. Masks will also be required inside the restrooms.
What other COVID related precautions will be in place?
We'll have a limited number of spots and assign campfires to each family/group.
Staff will be following COVID protocols during the preparation of your food.
